Joshua Idehen
Joshua Idehen is a British-born, Nigerian spoken word poet and musician based in London. He began writing and performing poetry while studying at Hackney Community College, drawing early inspiration from Dizzee Rascal's Channel U performances, and spent roughly two decades performing at open mic nights before setting his work to music.

About Joshua Idehen
Idehen has collaborated with acts including LV, Benin City, and Calabashed, and contributed guest vocals to recordings by Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming — both bands nominated for the Mercury Prize — as well as to Portugal. The Man, who received a Grammy nomination. Through the late 2010s he toured widely within the UK jazz scene as both a solo poet and a featured collaborator.
His track "Mum Does the Washing," a poem examining social systems set to production by musician Ludvig Parment, became a breakout moment that led to sold-out headline shows and festival appearances at Glastonbury and Green Man, along with a performance on Later... with Jools Holland.
Idehen released the mixtape Learn to Swim in 2023, with a further album titled I Know You're Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try scheduled for March 2026.
