About Julia Jacklin
Jacklin's music blends indie folk, indie pop and alternative country, often described as combining a dreamy sensibility with confessional, plainspoken songwriting. Her debut album, Don't Let the Kids Win, was released in 2016, followed by Crushing (2019) and Pre Pleasure (2022); a fourth album, The Gem, is set for release in 2026. She has won and been nominated for multiple ARIA, AIR, APRA and Music Victoria awards, including Best Solo Artist at the 2022 Music Victoria Awards.
Before her solo career, Jacklin formed the band Salta in 2012 and later co-founded the indie garage group Phantastic Ferniture in 2014. She built an international following through early singles "Pool Party" and "Coming of Age," which drew airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music and attention at South by Southwest in 2016, establishing her as a touring artist across Australia, Europe and North America.
