Kashus Culpepper
Kashus Culpepper is an American singer-songwriter from Alexander City, Alabama, who grew up singing in church and had no experience playing guitar until around 2020. While stationed in Spain during his service in the US Navy, he taught himself to play using online videos during lockdown, building confidence performing for fellow service members at informal gatherings.

About Kashus Culpepper
After his military service, Culpepper began posting performance clips online, which drew the attention of actor Samuel L. Jackson, who shared the videos with his own following. The exposure led to a recording contract with Big Loud Records and a move to Nashville, where he has performed at the Grand Ole Opry.
His music blends country, soul, blues, jazz, and southern-rock influences, citing artists such as Howlin' Wolf for their raw vocal style. His debut album, Act 1, draws on his upbringing in small-town Alabama, with storytelling rooted in childhood memories.
Within a few years of first picking up a guitar, Culpepper's rise drew public support from artists including John Mayer and Elton John.
