About Koyo

Blending emo, pop punk, and melodic hardcore in a style rooted in the Long Island hardcore scene, the band drew early comparisons to Taking Back Sunday and The Movielife on its debut EP, Painting Words into Lines (2020). Chiaramonte has described wanting each song to draw on a different strand of Long Island music. The band signed with Pure Noise Records in March 2022.

Koyo followed with the EPs Drives Out East (2021) and Mile a Minute (2024) and the studio albums Would You Miss It? (2023) and Barely Here (2026). The band has toured supporting Knocked Loose, Silverstein, and Stick to Your Guns and performed at festivals across the United States.
