Loathe
Loathe is an English heavy metal band from Liverpool, formed in 2011 under the name Our Imbalance before adopting the Loathe name in 2015 as their sound moved beyond straightforward metalcore. The band blends metalcore with nu metal, shoegaze, progressive metal and industrial textures, built around the guitar and vocal interplay of Erik Bickerstaffe and Kadeem France.

About Loathe
Loathe's debut album, The Cold Sun, arrived in 2017, followed by the critically praised I Let It In and It Took Everything (2020) and its instrumental companion piece The Things They Believe (2021). A fourth studio album, A Stranger to You, was released in 2026. The band's genre-blending production has drawn comparisons to both extreme metal and shoegaze acts.
The band was nominated for Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2018 and for Best UK Breakthrough Band at the Heavy Music Awards the same year. In 2020, Revolver magazine ranked Loathe third among acts most likely to break into the mainstream, citing the band's shifts between crushing heaviness and melodic, ambient passages within a single record.
