The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team competing in the AFC West division of the National Football League. The franchise was established in 1959 and began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League, joining the NFL in 1970 through the AFL–NFL merger.

About Los Angeles Chargers
The team has played in a succession of homes over its history: the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 1960, Balboa Stadium in San Diego from 1961 to 1966, San Diego Stadium from 1967 to 2016, Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson from 2017 to 2019, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood since 2020.
The Chargers won the AFL championship in 1963 and the AFC championship in 1994, along with 15 division titles, and reached Super Bowl XXIX in the 1994 season, losing to the San Francisco 49ers 49–26.
Originally based in Los Angeles, the franchise relocated to San Diego in 1961 and remained there for 56 seasons before moving back to Los Angeles in 2017. The team's history includes 11 Pro Football Hall of Famers, among them Dan Fouts, Lance Alworth, Junior Seau, and LaDainian Tomlinson.
