About Luke Morley

Before Thunder, Morley and Bowes played together in Terraplane, a band that released two albums in the 1980s before splitting in 1988. With Thunder he has written or co-written the bulk of the band's catalogue across more than a dozen studio albums, beginning with the 1990 debut Backstreet Symphony, and has also produced much of the group's later output.

Thunder has broken up and reformed several times since forming, with Morley remaining its constant songwriting core. During one of the band's hiatuses he formed the group The Union with fellow musicians in 2009. He has also released solo albums, including El Gringo Retro (2001), Songs from the Blue Room (2023) and Walking on Water (2025).

In 2023 Morley joined The Quireboys as guitarist and producer, continuing to work alongside his ongoing commitments to Thunder.
