Melt
Melt is an American indie soul band formed in New York City in 2017 by high school students Eric Gabriel and Veronica Stewart-Frommer, who assembled a larger group of musicians before settling on the band's name, having briefly considered calling themselves Toast.

About Melt
The band's 2017 debut single "Sour Candy" went viral after circulating on Reddit, reaching number five on the Billboard Viral 50 chart and drawing comparisons to Macy Gray for Stewart-Frommer's vocal delivery. Melt released its debut EP, West Side Highway, in 2021, followed by its first full-length album, If There's a Heaven, in September 2024, an eleven-track record produced by Sam Evian and recorded live-to-tape.
The band built its following while several members were still enrolled at universities scattered between Boston and Washington, D.C., balancing coursework with an increasingly active touring schedule. Its lineup has shifted over the years around a core of Stewart-Frommer on vocals, guitarist Marlo Shankweiler and bassist Lucas Saur, with past contributors including Aaron Alcouloumre, Eric Gabriel and Josh Greenzeig, plus saxophonist Nick Sare as a touring member.
Following the release of If There's a Heaven, Melt has continued to expand its touring reach, appearing alongside acts such as My Morning Jacket and Greensky Bluegrass and playing festival dates across North America and Europe.
