About Morrissey

With the Smiths, Morrissey released four studio albums, including the group's 1984 self-titled debut, known for lyrics addressing emotional isolation and dark humor. Following the band's 1987 split, he built an extensive solo career spanning albums such as Viva Hate (1988), Your Arsenal (1992) and Vauxhall and I (1994), through to later releases including Years of Refusal (2009), World Peace Is None of Your Business (2014) and Low in High School (2017).

He is regarded as a central figure in the emergence of indie pop, indie rock and Britpop, and was voted the second-greatest living British cultural icon in a 2006 BBC poll. Beyond music, Morrissey published an autobiography in 2013 and a debut novel, List of the Lost, in 2015.
