About Ne Obliviscaris
The band blends progressive and extreme metal with death, black, thrash and melodic metal, layering in classical, jazz, avant-garde and flamenco elements. After years of lineup changes, they released their debut album, Portal of I, in 2012, followed by Citadel (2014), Urn (2017) and Exul (2023).
Ne Obliviscaris built an international following through extensive touring across Asia, Europe and North America, and in 2014 set an Australian crowdfunding record by raising over 86,000 AUD in two days to fund a world tour. Their track "Intra Venus" won the 2018 Independent Music Award for Best Metal/Hardcore Song.
The current lineup features violinist and clean vocalist Tim Charles, guitarists Matt Klavins and Benjamin Baret, bassist Martino Garattoni and drummer Daniel Presland, alongside harsh vocalist James Dorton, who took over in January 2025 after founding vocalist Xenoyr departed following 22 years with the band.
