About Passion Pit

The band's debut studio album, Manners, followed in 2009, and its second, Gossamer, debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 in 2012, giving the band its first top-ten album. Kindred followed on Columbia Records in 2015, and Tremendous Sea of Love was self-released in 2017. Singles including "Sleepyhead" and "Take a Walk" received wide airplay and placement in advertising and film, while "Moth's Wings" appeared in the television series Gossip Girl and the 2017 film Wonder.

In August 2012, Angelakos publicly disclosed that he had bipolar disorder, first diagnosed at seventeen, telling Rolling Stone the condition was "not just debilitating; it's all-encompassing." The band canceled tour dates around the disclosure to allow him to seek treatment. The episode became closely tied to the band's public identity, and Angelakos has continued to speak about mental health alongside releasing and touring behind the band's later albums.
