About Phantom Planet

The current lineup features Alex Greenwald on vocals and rhythm guitar, Sam Farrar on bass, Darren Robinson on lead guitar, and Andrew Parker on drums. Playing alternative rock, garage rock, and power pop, the band released its debut album, Phantom Planet Is Missing, in 1998, followed by The Guest (2002), a self-titled album (2004), Raise the Dead (2008), and Devastator (2020).

The band is best known for the song "California," which became the theme for the Fox television series The O.C. and remains its signature track. Phantom Planet broke up in 2008, reunited briefly between 2011 and 2013, and reformed permanently in 2019; the band remains active and has been working on a sixth studio album.
