PJ Morton
PJ Morton, born Paul Sylvester Morton Jr. on March 29, 1981, in New Orleans, Louisiana, is an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, producer and keyboardist. The son of Bishop Paul S. Morton, founder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, he began playing piano in his father's church as a child before earning a marketing degree from Morehouse College in 2003.

About PJ Morton
Morton toured as a backing musician for Erykah Badu before joining the pop rock band Maroon 5 as a touring keyboardist and backing vocalist in 2010; he became a full member in 2012, contributing to the albums Overexposed, V, Red Pill Blues, Jordi and Love Is Like. Alongside the band, he has released a series of acclaimed solo albums, including New Orleans (2013), featuring the Grammy-nominated "Only One" with Stevie Wonder, and Gumbo (2017).
A six-time Grammy Award winner with more than twenty nominations, Morton has won in categories including Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song and Best Gospel Album, and has also received honors from the NAACP Image Awards, BET Awards and Soul Train Awards. He runs his own label, Morton Records, and has collaborated with artists including Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne and Jill Scott.
More recent solo releases include Paul (2019), Gospel According to PJ (2020) and Watch the Sun (2022), and Morton composed original music for Disney's Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction. He remains Maroon 5's full-time keyboardist while continuing his solo recording career, with a new album, Saturday Night / Sunday Morning, planned for 2026.
