About Portland Timbers

The club won its first major trophy, the MLS Cup, in 2015 under coach Caleb Porter, and added the MLS is Back Tournament title in 2020. The Timbers have also reached the MLS Cup final in 2018 and 2021 and have won the regional Cascadia Cup six times.

The team plays its home matches at Providence Park in downtown Portland. Giovanni Savarese coached the club from 2018 to 2023, and Marti Cifuentes has led the team since. The current MLS side carries forward the Timbers name and identity established by its NASL and USL predecessors, making it one of the league's clubs with the deepest local soccer history.
