Pouya, born Kevin Pouya on 20 December 1994 in Miami, Florida, is an American rapper of Iranian and Cuban descent. He began rapping around 2011 after first building an online following alongside childhood friend Fat Nick through a YouTube comedy channel.

About Pouya

Regarded as a pioneer of the underground rap scene that emerged on SoundCloud around 2012, Pouya helped discover and mentor the duo $uicideboy$ early in their careers. His track "Get Buck" (2013) drew millions of views, and his mixtape South Side Slugs produced the widely streamed "Suicidal Thoughts in the Back of the Cadillac."

His studio albums include Underground Underdog (2016), which reached the Billboard 200, followed by Five Five (2018), The South Got Something to Say (2019), Blood Was Never Thick as Water (2021), Gator (2023) and They Could Never Make Me Hate You (2024); his style spans Southern hip hop, cloud rap and alternative hip hop, citing Bone Thugs-n-Harmony as a key influence.

Pouya has recorded extensively with Fat Nick, Denzel Curry, Ghostemane and City Morgue, moving his output in 2022 from his independent Buffet Boys imprint to All But 6 Records while retaining a large, independently built fan base of several hundred thousand SoundCloud followers.
