Rhapsody of Fire is an Italian symphonic power metal band formed in Trieste in 1993 by guitarist Luca Turilli and keyboardist Alex Staropoli. The band performed initially as Thundercross, then as Rhapsody, before adopting the name Rhapsody of Fire in 2006 following a trademark dispute. The group is widely credited as a pioneer of the symphonic power metal subgenre, pairing orchestral arrangements with fantasy-themed concept albums.

About Rhapsody of Fire

Their debut, Legendary Tales (1997), and follow-up Symphony of Enchanted Lands (1998) established the band's neoclassical, orchestral sound, developed further across the Emerald Sword Saga, which concluded with Power of the Dragonflame (2002). The band has released fourteen studio albums, including From Chaos to Eternity (2011) and, more recently, Challenge the Wind (2024), part of the ongoing Nephilim's Empire Saga.

Founding guitarist Turilli departed in 2011, followed by longtime vocalist Fabio Lione and drummer Alex Holzwarth in 2016, leaving keyboardist Alex Staropoli as the band's sole original member. The current lineup includes guitarist Roberto De Micheli, bassist Alessandro Sala, vocalist Giacomo Voli and drummer Paolo Marchesich, continuing the band's tradition of symphony-scale power metal built around fantasy narratives.
