Romesh Ranganathan
Romesh Ranganathan is a British stand-up comedian, writer and broadcaster born Jonathan Romesh Ranganathan on March 27, 1978, in Crawley, West Sussex, to Sri Lankan Tamil parents. He studied mathematics at Birkbeck, University of London, and worked for several years as a secondary school maths teacher before leaving teaching in 2011 to pursue stand-up comedy full-time.

About Romesh Ranganathan
Known for a deadpan, self-deprecating style, Ranganathan first reached a wide UK audience through the travel series Asian Provocateur, in which he toured Sri Lanka with his mother. He went on to front The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan, The Ranganation, Rob & Romesh Vs and Judge Romesh, and became a regular panelist on A League of Their Own from 2018. He won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Features in 2020 and for Best Entertainment Performance in 2021, and later took over as host of the revived BBC One game show The Weakest Link.
His first major stand-up tour, Irrational Live, played arenas and large theatres across the UK in 2016, and his autobiography, Straight Outta Crawley, was published in 2018 and became a Sunday Times bestseller. He released the Netflix stand-up special The Cynic in 2022, and his subsequent Hustle tour sold out across the UK, later documented in the Sky travelogue series Can't Knock the Hustle.
Beyond stand-up, Ranganathan hosts a Saturday morning show on BBC Radio 2, co-hosts the podcast Wolf & Owl with fellow comedian Tom Davis, and provided a voice role in the Aardman animated film Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. He continues to write and act through his production company, Ranga Bee, and co-hosts the British Academy Television Awards alongside comedian Rob Beckett.
