RUSH
Rush is a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario, in August 1968. Its classic and most enduring lineup consisted of Geddy Lee on bass, keyboards and vocals, Alex Lifeson on guitar, and Neil Peart on drums and as primary lyricist, with Peart joining in 1974 shortly after the band's self-titled debut album.

About RUSH
Known for a progressive, hard-rock sound built on complex time signatures, extended compositions and philosophically and science-fiction-influenced lyrics, the band's landmark albums include 2112 (1976), Permanent Waves (1980) and Moving Pictures (1981), the last of which contains the singles "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight." Rush has sold more than 26 million albums in the United States and over 42 million worldwide, earning 14 platinum and three multi-platinum US certifications, ten Juno Awards and seven Grammy nominations.
The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. Rush effectively disbanded after its 2015 R40 tour, and Neil Peart, who had already signaled his intent to stop touring, died on 7 January 2020 at age 67 from glioblastoma.
In October 2025, Lee and Lifeson announced a reformation of Rush for a 2026 tour billed "Fifty Something," marking more than fifty years since the band's formation, with drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold joining the lineup; the tour is scheduled to run through North America in 2026 before further dates in South America and Europe in 2027.
