Russell Howard
Russell Howard was born on 23 March 1980 in Bath, Somerset, England, and grew up nearby in Radstock, later studying economics at the University of the West of England. He began performing stand-up in 1999 and built his reputation through the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning Best Compere at the 2006 Chortle Awards and receiving an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination the same year.

About Russell Howard
His breakthrough came with Russell Howard's Good News, a BBC Three show he presented from 2009 to 2015 that became the channel's highest-rated entertainment series, built around his comedic commentary on the week's news. He was also a regular panelist on Mock the Week and later hosted The Russell Howard Hour on Sky One from 2017 to 2022. In 2025 he said he would focus on stand-up touring and podcasting rather than television.
