About Serena Terry aka Mammy Banter
Terry's sketches about the unfiltered realities of motherhood and parenting have built a following of several million across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, with a substantial share of that audience in the United States and Canada. She has published two novels with HarperCollins, Mammy Banter: The Secret Life of an Uncool Mum and The Sh!te Before Christmas, both released in 2022, and appeared as an RUC officer in the final season of Derry Girls.
Terry began developing the Mammy Banter character in part following the deaths of her twin brothers, Patrick and Daniel, who died within two months of each other in 2019; Daniel had aspired to a career in stand-up comedy. She has since toured sold-out stand-up shows across Ireland and the United Kingdom and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Terry has continued to tour stand-up material while remaining a public voice on mental health and postpartum depression.
