Shakey Graves, born Alejandro Rose-Garcia on June 4, 1987, is an American musician and actor from Austin, Texas. He took his stage name in 2007 at the Old Settler's Music Festival, where friends jokingly assigned each other Native American-style camp names around a fire; the name stuck after a night of playing music. Before establishing himself as a musician, Rose-Garcia had acting roles in the television series Friday Night Lights and the Spy Kids film franchise.

About Shakey Graves

His music combines blues, folk, country and rock and roll, drawing comparisons to the Americana tradition. He became known for a one-man-band setup, playing guitar while operating a kick drum built from a suitcase, a format central to his self-released 2011 debut album Roll the Bones. Subsequent albums include And the War Came (2014), Can't Wake Up (2018) and Movie of the Week (2023), released through Dualtone Records. His song Dearly Departed was certified gold.

Rose-Garcia won Best Emerging Artist at the 2015 Americana Music Honors & Awards and has performed on Austin City Limits and NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series. Each February he releases new material through Shakey Graves Day, offered on a pay-what-you-want basis with proceeds benefiting charity.

He remains an active recording and touring musician. He married fellow musician Stephanie Hunt in April 2023, and the couple's first child, a daughter, was born in 2024.
