Stephen Wilson Jr.
Stephen Wilson Jr. is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born July 11, 1979, in Seymour, Indiana, where he was raised by his father, an amateur boxer, and became an Indiana State Golden Gloves finalist himself as a young man. He later earned a microbiology degree from Middle Tennessee State University and worked for several years as a food scientist.

About Stephen Wilson Jr.
Before pursuing music full time, Wilson co-founded and played lead guitar in the indie rock band AutoVaughn, touring with the group for about five years. He signed a publishing deal with Big Loud in Nashville in 2016 and began releasing solo material with the 2019 single "The Devil".
His debut studio album, Son of Dad (2023), confronts the death of his father in 2018 and blends Americana and country songwriting with an outlaw sensibility rooted in grunge and indie rock. Wilson has described his sound as "Death Cab for Country" and cites Willie Nelson, Kurt Cobain, Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp among his influences. The album was followed by a deluxe reissue and the covers project Blankets (2025).
His single "Gary" became a country radio breakthrough, reaching Billboard's Country Airplay chart in early 2026. Wilson remains signed to Big Loud and continues to tour and record, including the duet "Made for This" with his wife, singer Leigh Nash.
