The Lemonheads are an American alternative rock band formed in Boston in 1986 by Evan Dando, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz, originally under the name the Whelps before adopting a candy-inspired name meant to reflect being sweet on the inside and sour outside. Dando has been the band's sole constant member, with past lineups including Juliana Hatfield and Descendents-affiliated musicians.

About The Lemonheads

After three albums on the independent label Taang! Records in the late 1980s, the band signed to Atlantic Records and broke through with It's a Shame About Ray (1992), whose cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson" became one of the band's biggest hits, later featured in Wayne's World 2 and The Wolf of Wall Street. Come on Feel the Lemonheads (1993) and Car Button Cloth (1996) followed before the band went inactive.

The Lemonheads reunited in 2005 with new lineups and have released a self-titled album (2006) and two volumes of the covers album Varshons (2009, 2019), alongside a solo career for Dando that included Baby I'm Bored (2003).

The band's most recent album, Love Chant, was released in October 2025, and the group continues to tour, including a 2025 performance in Zagreb.
