The Molotovs
The Molotovs are a London-based rock band formed in 2020 by teenage siblings Mathew Cartlidge (vocals, guitar) and Issey Cartlidge (bass, vocals), who initially performed as The Mocktales before renaming the group. The new name referenced both the Molotov cocktail and, according to Mathew Cartlidge, the band's rebellious energy.

About The Molotovs
Their sound fuses punk with Britpop melody and a mod-influenced, 1960s-tinged guitar style, described by critics as short, sharp bursts of catchy guitar pop. Still in their teens when the band gained traction, the Cartlidge siblings were personally invited to open for established acts including The Libertines, Blondie, Iggy Pop, The Damned and the Sex Pistols, including a support slot at the Royal Albert Hall, and had played more than 500 gigs by January 2025.
The band signed to Marshall Records in January 2025 and released its debut album, Wasted on Youth, in January 2026. Produced by Jason Perry, the album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart.
As of mid-2026 the current lineup includes drummer Noah Riley alongside the Cartlidge siblings. The band continues touring, including support dates with Yungblud and a headline run billed as the Welcome To Urbia tour.
