The Velveteers are an American rock band formed in 2014 in Boulder, Colorado, when teenagers Demi Demitro and Baby Pottersmith met at a local concert and began writing songs together. The band is known for its unconventional configuration of two drummers performing simultaneously alongside Demitro's lead vocals and guitar, a setup that gives the group an unusually dense, percussive live sound.

About The Velveteers

Drummer Johnny Fig joined the group in 2020, completing the current three-piece lineup. Their sound draws on garage rock and alternative rock with punk and glam influences, emphasizing raw, largely unadorned live performance energy over studio polish.

The band records for producer Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound label, which released their debut album Nightmare Daydream in 2021 and its follow-up, A Million Knives, in 2025. Both records favor live studio takes with minimal overdubbing, a production approach consistent with Auerbach's other work at the label.

The Velveteers have opened arena and festival shows for Guns N' Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, and Greta Van Fleet, and have toured extensively with The Black Keys, extending their audience well beyond Colorado's independent rock scene.
