About The Waterboys
The group is known for what Scott termed "the Big Music" -- an expansive, horn- and keyboard-driven rock sound heard on This Is the Sea (1985) -- before shifting toward Irish traditional and folk influences on Fisherman's Blues (1988) after relocating to Ireland. Later work has drawn on blues, soul and American roots music, reflecting Scott's description of the band as himself and whichever musicians are currently touring with him.
