About Tony Hadley

With Spandau Ballet he sang lead on the band's major international hits, including "True," "Gold," and "Through the Barricades," and took part in the 1984 Band Aid charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" The band's run of UK and European chart success made Hadley one of the era's most recognisable pop voices.

Following Spandau Ballet's split in 1990, Hadley pursued a solo career, releasing albums including The State of Play (1992) and Passing Strangers (2006), and performed with orchestras and big bands. He rejoined a reunited Spandau Ballet in 2009 but left the group permanently in 2017 to focus on solo work.

Since then he has continued to record and tour as a solo artist, releasing the albums Talking to the Moon (2018) and The Mood I'm In (2024), and completed a 40th-anniversary tour in 2022. He was appointed MBE in 2020 for charitable services.
