About Troy Hawke

The character became widely known through the online series Greeters Guild, in which Hawke approaches strangers, shoppers and celebrities to deliver surreal, courtly flattery; the videos have built a following of more than a million people across social media. McCabe has taken the character to events including Formula 1 paddocks, where he greeted drivers and team principals with absurd remarks, and performed as Hawke on Live at the Apollo in 2023.

Before creating Troy Hawke, McCabe worked as a drummer for the band Tim Booth and the Individuals, performing at festivals including Glastonbury, before moving into television and character comedy; his acting credits include Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive and the sitcom Benidorm. His stand-up show won a comedy award at the 2019 Perth Fringe World Festival.

McCabe continues to tour live stand-up shows in character as Troy Hawke while maintaining the Greeters Guild's online video output.
