About Weezer

The band's self-titled debut, commonly called the Blue Album (1994), became a multiplatinum success behind singles "Buddy Holly," "Undone – The Sweater Song" and "Say It Ain't So." Its 1996 follow-up, Pinkerton, was poorly received on release but later reassessed as a cult classic. Subsequent albums, including the Green Album (2001), Maladroit (2002) and the Red Album (2008), moved between power pop, pop-punk and harder rock sounds.

After Pinkerton's commercial disappointment, the band went on hiatus from 1997 to 2000, during which its fan base grew online; the Green Album marked a deliberate return to concise pop songwriting. Weezer has continued releasing material across genres, including the orchestral pop record OK Human and the hard-rock-leaning Van Weezer, both from 2021.

The band remains active, marking the Blue Album's 30th anniversary with the Voyage to the Blue Planet tour and preparing a twentieth studio album for 2026.
