About Wheeler Walker Jr.

The persona's albums pair traditional outlaw-country instrumentation with deliberately provocative, explicit comedic lyrics that parody mainstream bro-country music. The debut album, Redneck Shit (2016), reached number nine on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and topped the Comedy Albums chart. Subsequent releases include Ol' Wheeler (2017), WW III (2018), Sex, Drugs & Country Music (2022), and Ram (2023), all produced by Dave Cobb.

Hoffman conceived the character as commentary on the country-music industry, using the exaggerated persona to satirize commercial trends and industry censorship while performing full-band live shows in the outlaw-country tradition. Music press coverage has characterized the material as deliberately obscene while acknowledging its comedic craft.

Hoffman has billed Pullin' Out as Wheeler Walker Jr.'s sixth and final studio album, released alongside a farewell tour marking the character's planned conclusion.
