About wilt
The group's self-produced debut single "gwen," released in November 2022, became a rapid word-of-mouth success, drawing more than 60 million combined views across Instagram and TikTok along with airplay on Los Angeles radio stations KROQ and KCRW and a placement on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist.
Its sound blends rock and electronic textures, drawing on influences that range from Hole and Alex G to Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes and Weezer; guitarists Liebman and Perrea produce much of the band's material from home studios rather than commercial recording facilities.
wilt built a fast-growing fan base it calls "wilters," reaching several hundred thousand monthly Spotify listeners across more than 150 countries, and opened shows for the British act Lovejoy in 2023. In its early days the band operated without a dedicated bassist, with Liebman and Perrea alternating bass and guitar duties, while continuing to release singles toward a planned EP.
