Geneva International Film Festival 2026

The Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) returns for its 32nd edition, a ten-day exploration of image, sound, and new narrative forms. Founded in 1995 and renamed in 2017, the festival has become a key platform for film, series, and immersive experiences. This year's edition unveils a striking new visual identity by artist Dominik Grejc, exploring temporality and the decomposition of the image.

Attendees can immerse themselves in a diverse programme of screenings, interactive installations, VR workshops, conferences, and live performances. The festival's competitive sections include the International Feature Competition, International Series Competition, International Immersive Experience Competition, and the Future is Sensible Competition, each awarding a Reflet d'Or and a cash prize of CHF 10,000. A highlight is the Film & Beyond tribute award, honouring interdisciplinary artists like Jean-Michel Jarre and Park Chan-wook.

Beyond the screenings, GIFF PRO serves as Switzerland's premier industry event, connecting over 800 professionals over four days of talks and networking. The festival also co-hosts the 'Beyond Cinema: Swiss Digital Showcase' at Cannes and the Swiss Party at South by Southwest, underscoring its international reach. With a new poster and a bustling GIFF Shop offering limited-edition merchandise, the 32nd edition promises a dynamic celebration of audiovisual innovation.
