O Santo Faz Anos: Lisbon Celebrates Saint Anthony

Every August, Lisbon honors its most beloved saint with a three-day celebration at the Museu de Lisboa - Santo António, the museum built on the site where tradition says Saint Anthony was born. The program blends fado music, a guided walking tour, and a family workshop, all set against the historic backdrop of the Alfama district.

On the first evening, visitors can enjoy a free fado concert dedicated to Saint Anthony, capturing the soulful essence of Lisbon's musical heritage. The following day features a 75-minute walking tour retracing the saint's birthplace, suitable for ages 12 and up. Families with children aged six and older can join a creative workshop on the final morning, exploring themes inspired by the saint's legacy.
