Turn Around: Contemporary Art from the EDP Foundation Collection

Turn Around is one of the most ambitious public surveys of contemporary art in Portugal, bringing together around 100 works from the EDP Foundation Art Collection. Curated by João Pinharanda, Margarida Chantre, and Sérgio Mah, the exhibition unfolds across two moments at MAAT Central, conceived as a single project running through early 2027.

Rather than a chronological or thematic arrangement, the selection creates an open journey built on dialogue between works, generations, and artistic languages, closely tied to the architecture of the space. Visitors will encounter both established names and emerging voices, revealing affinities, frictions, and continuities that have shaped Portuguese artistic practice over recent decades.

The collection, initiated in 2000, now includes some 2,500 works by more than 340 artists. Set in the striking MAAT museum on the Lisbon waterfront, Turn Around offers a rare chance to experience a broad cross-section of Portugal's vibrant contemporary art scene in a single, thoughtfully curated setting.
