Getting aroundDowntown, Midtown and Corktown are each walkable in themselves, linked by the free People Mover loop and the QLine streetcar up Woodward Avenue, but going further (Belle Isle, Eastern Market, the neighbourhoods) really needs a car or rideshare. Detroit Metro Airport is about 25-30 minutes from downtown by car.
Where to stayDowntown for the biggest hotel choice, stadiums and riverfront within walking distance; Midtown for museums, cafes and the Detroit Institute of Arts; Corktown for the city's oldest-neighbourhood feel, breweries and proximity to the redeveloped Michigan Central train station
