Beartooth is an American rock band founded in 2012 in Columbus, Ohio, by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Shomo. What began as a solo studio project, with Shomo writing and recording every part himself, grew into a full band featuring four additional members over the years that followed.

About Beartooth

The band's music combines metalcore and alternative metal with hard rock and post-hardcore, favoring melodic hooks and choruses alongside heavier instrumentation. Signed to Red Bull Records, Beartooth released the full-length albums Disgusting (2014), Aggressive (2016), Disease (2018), Below (2021) and The Surface (2023), the last of which reached number one on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart. The band won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best Breakthrough Band in 2016.

Shomo has been recognized individually for his vocal range, named among the best screamers in modern metalcore by Alternative Press. As the band's sole constant member and primary songwriter, he has steered its evolution from a bedroom recording project into a five-piece act built around anthemic, melody-driven hardcore, with The Surface exploring themes of personal growth.

The band's sixth studio album, Pure Ecstasy, followed in 2026, continuing the blend of aggression and melody that has defined its catalogue. Beartooth remains active as a full band, with Shomo still writing and producing the group's material alongside its current lineup.
