About Chicago Bears
The Bears have won nine NFL championships, including eight titles before the Super Bowl era (1921, 1932, 1933, 1940, 1941, 1943, 1946 and 1963) and one Super Bowl, won following the 1985 season behind a groundbreaking defensive scheme. The team also set an NFL record with a 73-0 win over Washington in the 1940 championship game.
Notable players across the franchise's history include running back Walter Payton, who held the NFL career rushing record until 2002, quarterback Sid Luckman, linebacker Dick Butkus, running back Gale Sayers, and Mike Ditka, a Hall of Fame tight end who later coached the 1985 championship team. The organization has more Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinees from its own playing and coaching ranks than any other NFL franchise.
After a long stretch of inconsistent quarterback play and coaching turnover, the Bears drafted quarterback Caleb Williams first overall in 2024; under new head coach Ben Johnson, the team went 11-6 in 2025, won the NFC North, and returned to the postseason for the first time since 2020.
