About Elvana
The concept originated when the group's members were booked to play a set of Nirvana covers at a friend's party and concluded that they did not physically resemble the members of Nirvana; they performed instead in Elvis costumes, layering Presley's vocal mannerisms and stage persona over Nirvana's catalogue. The band's lead singer has described the approach as an "everyday, slightly-dodgy" and distinctly punk-rock take on Elvis impersonation rather than a conventional tribute performance, and the group maintains its act is intended as a tribute to both artists rather than a parody of either.
The novelty premise has carried Elvana beyond the pub and club circuit typical of tribute acts, with the band progressing to major festival stages, including an appearance at Glastonbury Festival in 2022 and a placing among The Scotsman's standout acts of the 2023 Download Festival.
The band has continued to build its following since, maintaining a substantial social media presence alongside its live performances in the United Kingdom and internationally.
