The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional American football team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, competing in the National Football Conference East division of the National Football League. The franchise was established on July 8, 1933, when a group led by Bert Bell and Lud Wray paid a $3,500 entry fee for an NFL expansion team.

About Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have won four league championships: NFL titles in 1948, 1949, and 1960, and Super Bowl victories following the 2017 season, Super Bowl LII, and the 2024 season, Super Bowl LIX. The franchise has also claimed six NFC or NFL Eastern Conference titles over its history.
After struggling through their first two decades, the Eagles won back-to-back NFL championships in 1948 and 1949 under coach Greasy Neale, then added a third title in 1960. The team reached Super Bowl XV in January 1981 under coach Dick Vermeil but lost to the Oakland Raiders, and later built sustained contenders under coach Andy Reid from 1999 to 2012.
Owned by Jeffrey Lurie since 1994, the Eagles play home games at Lincoln Financial Field and have sold out every home game since 1999. The team won its first Super Bowl in February 2018 under coach Doug Pederson and added a second title after the 2024 season.
