About Ryan Oakes
His sound draws from old-school hip-hop fused with hard rock and electronic production, a rock-rap hybrid he has used across mixtapes including Millennial Meltdown, Pity Party, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Slumberland and Burnout. Tracks such as "Numb", "2AM" and "Hellboy" have each drawn tens of millions of streams, and he released his full-length debut album, Wake Up, in 2023.
Oakes has collaborated with artists including Mod Sun, Futuristic, Neffex and State Champs, and recorded "Suicidal Thoughts (No One's Home)" with Chrissy Costanza of Against the Current, a song addressing mental health struggles. His songwriting leans on personal, often confessional lyrics layered over energetic, genre-blending production, an approach he has described as putting his own personality and "personal truths" into the music.
