Shaboozey, born Collins Obinna Chibueze on May 9, 1995, in Woodbridge, Virginia, to Nigerian Igbo parents, is an American singer and rapper. His stage name originated from a high school football coach's mispronunciation of his surname. He released his debut single, "Jeff Gordon," in 2014 and founded the production company V Picture Films, but first gained wider recognition through a placement on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack in 2018.

About Shaboozey

His music merges country and Americana instrumentation with hip hop songwriting and delivery, an approach that moved from early trap-influenced material toward folk-pop built around acoustic guitar. His third album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going (2024), was certified platinum and included the single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, tying the record held by Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road."

The success of "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" established Shaboozey as a prominent figure in the crossover between country and hip hop, and he performed during Beyoncé's NFL Christmas Day halftime show in December 2024. In 2026 he won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Amen," recorded with Jelly Roll.

He has announced a fourth studio album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, for release in July 2026.
