Soul Glo
Soul Glo are an American hardcore punk band formed in 2014 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, led by vocalist Pierce Jordan. The group began as a quartet completed by drummer Jamie Sokol, bassist Ethan Brennan and guitarist Ruben Polo, releasing an untitled debut EP the same year with songs addressing violence against Black women.

About Soul Glo
Multi-instrumentalist GG Guerra joined in 2017 and drummer TJ Stevenson in 2018, rounding out the lineup that recorded 2019's The Nigga in Me Is Me, an album that began folding hip-hop, noise and jazz-fusion guitar into the band's hardcore base. Their 2022 album Diaspora Problems, released on Epitaph Records, was named metal album of the year by Rolling Stone and brought the band to a much larger audience.
Soul Glo's sound resists easy categorization, combining hardcore punk, rap and metal with lyrics that move between depression, trauma and systemic racism rather than outward protest. The band's rise took them from Philadelphia's DIY scene to major festival stages and package bills alongside other prominent punk and rock acts.
In 2024, Soul Glo became the first hardcore punk band to record a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR, a milestone that underscored the band's crossover from underground hardcore into mainstream music media coverage. The current lineup of Jordan, Guerra and Stevenson continues to write, record and perform, building on the momentum of Diaspora Problems.
