Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans are a professional American football team based in Nashville, Tennessee, in the AFC South division of the National Football League. The franchise was founded in 1959 by oil executive K.S. "Bud" Adams Jr. as the Houston Oilers, a charter member of the American Football League that began play in 1960.

About Tennessee Titans
The Oilers won back-to-back AFL championships in 1960 and 1961 and claimed four division titles before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. The franchise made consecutive playoff appearances from 1987 to 1993 behind Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, having reached the postseason from 1978 to 1980 with running back Earl Campbell. Moon and Campbell, along with George Blanda, Mike Munchak, Bruce Matthews and Elvin Bethea, have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The franchise relocated to Tennessee after the 1996 season, playing as the Tennessee Oilers for two seasons before adopting the Titans name in November 1998, a reference to Nashville's classical architecture and its "Athens of the South" nickname. Under head coach Jeff Fisher and quarterback Steve McNair, the Titans went 13-3 in 1999 and reached Super Bowl XXXIV via a playoff run that included the "Music City Miracle" lateral-pass return, losing to the St. Louis Rams 23-16.
The Titans finished 3-14 in both 2024 and 2025, the latter season including the in-season dismissal of head coach Brian Callahan. The team used the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on quarterback Cam Ward and enters its current era under new head coach Robert Saleh.
