The Acacia Strain
The Acacia Strain is an American deathcore and metalcore band founded in 2001 in Chicopee, Massachusetts, by high school friends Vincent Bennett, Christopher Daniele and Ben Abert, who were soon joined by Karrie Whitfield, Daniel Laskiewicz and Daniel Daponde. The band is now based in Albany, New York, and released its debut album, ...And Life Is Very Long, in 2002 through Devil's Head Records.

About The Acacia Strain
Bennett is the group's only original member; drummer Kevin Boutot was the band's second-longest-tenured member, playing from 2005 to 2023. The current lineup adds guitarist Devin Shidaker (since 2013), bassist Griffin Landa (since 2015), guitarist Mike Mulholland (since 2022) and drummer Matt Guglielmo (since 2023).
Across thirteen studio albums the band has built a discography anchored by a heavy, downtuned rhythm section and layered samples; releases include Wormwood (2010), Coma Witch (2014), Slow Decay (2020) and You Are Safe from God Here (2025). The group has recorded for labels including Prosthetic Records and its current label, Rise Records, and joined Thy Art Is Murder and Fit for an Autopsy on the collaborative EP The Depression Sessions in 2016.
Bennett's lyrics center on misanthropic and nihilistic themes, at times using provocative imagery as metaphor rather than literal statement. The band has toured extensively, including a 2023 North American run supporting Dying Fetus alongside Despised Icon, and was announced for the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, in September 2026.
