About The Fray
The band's piano-driven debut album, How to Save a Life (2005), was certified quadruple platinum in the United States and included the singles "Over My Head (Cable Car)," a Billboard Hot 100 top-ten hit, and the title track, which peaked at number three. The self-titled follow-up, The Fray (2009), debuted atop the Billboard 200. The band earned Grammy nominations for Best Pop Performance and Best Rock Performance and won a Billboard Music Award for Digital Album of the Year.
Later albums Scars & Stories (2012) and Helios (2014) continued the group's melodic, emotionally direct style before Isaac Slade left the band in 2022, with Joe King stepping into the lead vocal role. The remaining members regrouped as a trio with guitarist Dave Welsh and drummer Ben Wysocki.
The Fray returned in 2024 with the EP The Fray Is Back, its first new music in nearly a decade, and released the single "My Heart's a Crowded Room" in 2025. The band marked the 20th anniversary of How to Save a Life with a global tour and issued its fifth studio album, A Light That Waits, in March 2026.
