The Proclaimers are a Scottish rock duo formed in 1983 by identical twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, born in Leith, Edinburgh and raised in Auchtermuchty, Fife. The pair perform as vocalists and acoustic guitarists, backed by a touring band.

About The Proclaimers

Their sound mixes post-punk energy with folk and country instrumentation, delivered in unmistakably Scottish vocal style. The 1987 single "Letter from America" gave them their first UK hit, and their 1988 album Sunshine on Leith, which included "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," became their signature record and has sold around two million copies worldwide.
