Thousand Below is an American post-hardcore band from San Diego, California, formed in 2016 by vocalist James Deberg after the dissolution of his previous band, Outlands. Guitarist Josh Thomas joined as a collaborator early on, and the pair recruited bassist Josh Billimoria along with additional musicians to complete the original lineup.

About Thousand Below

The band signed to Rise Records and released its debut album, The Love You Let Too Close, in 2017, followed by Gone in Your Wake (2019), Hell Finds You Everywhere (2022) and Buried in Jade (2025). An acoustic EP, Let Go of Your Love, was released in 2020. Musically, the band pairs emotionally direct lyrics and melodic riffs with heavier breakdowns, drawing on post-rock atmospherics alongside its core post-hardcore sound.

Drummer Max Santoro joined in 2019, and the band's lineup has since remained stable around Deberg, Thomas, Billimoria and Santoro. Thousand Below is currently signed to the label Pale Chord Music.

The band continues to tour actively, supporting other acts and appearing at festivals, with dates scheduled through 2026.
