We Came As Romans
We Came as Romans is an American metalcore band from Troy, Michigan. A group of high school classmates formed the group in August 2005, initially performing under the name This Emergency before settling on We Came as Romans in the summer of 2006. The band pairs metalcore and post-hardcore instrumentation with orchestral elements, including violin passages and keyboard-driven ballads. The current lineup includes guitarist Joshua Moore, vocalist and keyboardist Dave Stephens, guitarist Lou Cotton, bassist Andy Glass and drummer David Puckett.

About We Came As Romans
The band's catalog includes To Plant a Seed (2009), Understanding What We've Grown to Be (2011), Tracing Back Roots (2013), which reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200, the self-titled We Came as Romans (2015), Cold Like War (2017), Darkbloom (2022) and All Is Beautiful... Because We're Doomed (2025). In 2013 the group won a Music Video Directors Association Award for Best Live Performance/Tour Video for the clip accompanying "A War Inside."
The band's history includes a significant loss: vocalist and keyboardist Kyle Pavone died in August 2018 at age 28 from an accidental drug overdose. Rather than replace him, the remaining members continued as a four-piece, with Stephens absorbing his vocal parts, and have kept releasing and touring behind new material in the years since.
